Introducing my debut TTRPG, Off The Grid! A game of fighting an oppressive government with wicked parkour moves and gunplay.  Heavily inspired by the video game Mirror's Edge, this TTRPG is meant to emulate the quick-thinking and on-the-fly action of doing clandestine missions in a bustling cityscape as Couriers working for a revolutionary group. In Off The Grid, you will:

  • Evade, fight, and outwit enemy forces
  • Roll a single d10 to resolve mechanics quickly
  • Make fast, on-the-fly decisions as your characters do with a timed turn mechanic
  • Go up against (or completely avoid!) corrupt police, crooked private security, and oppressive military agents
  • Draw upon your characters' personal Drives that act as reset buttons when things go horribly wrong
  • Hang out with and support your fellow Couriers after a job well done

Race from rooftop to rooftop and take down the Lemniscate Group!

Revised Edition: It's here! Coinciding with the Croatian Earthquake Relief bundle, the revised 1.1 version of the game is now live! Introducing lots of rule revisions to make gameplay both smoother and more balanced towards players who wish to engage in combat more.

General Content Warning: This game at base contains themes of and mentions of oppression, surveillance, police, guns, violence, and death. There is also speculative fiction that talks about real-world issues that might make some readers uncomfortable to imagine or play with. TTRPG safety tools are detailed within this game and their use is highly encouraged.

Urgh. I happened to notice that all "ENEMIES" are listed as "Affiliation: Police", with the exception of one. While I am sure that you agree (presuming you are adults qualified to publish on this platform) that living "off the grid" is a sort of narcissistic fantasy with no real-life applications in the New Millennium, I can't help but wonder why you would try to capitalize on this fantasy when there are demonstrably very few Meaningful Experiences that could be found even in this simulacrum. Would it not have been a better use of resources to make a Batman simulator? I mean: yes, the Fight-or-Flight response does drive a lot of our decision-making, both in Game and Life, but to make a game based entirely on flight appears a bit ironic, and the satire might be lost on some of your paying players. Since Games are Social Institutions, you must expect your audience to be, well, law-abiding citizens, at least civilians who'd rather stay at home than go into the Wild. You also have to pay consideration to the Internet; its premise is of SHARING information, not EVADING it, and running from responsibility feels like just something that one does on Google Chrome when Internet is faulty and you're waiting for the Server to Reboot. (I mean the DiNoSaur, of course.) I am not saying this at all to mean discouragement or bias. I just don't see how it counteracts "oppression", and as a Developer, Blogger and Player I can think of nothing purer for this Comments Section than concern and criticism. We all have to do our part SOMEhow. [({R.G.)}]

As an addendum: solid use of Courier. I love it. R.G.
